DIY MARBLE JEWELRY TRAYS

Everywhere I look I see the marble trend & I am not mad about it one bit! I came across trays similar to these at Anthropologie a while back & thought I could totally make these myself. Well I finally bought the materials, made the trays, & spent the afternoon sprucing up my jewelry area! I have always been quite a fan of anything DIY but this one especially since it was so simple!

You will need:

- White Clay
- Colorful Clay of your choice
- Gold Paint Pen
- Butter Knife

Lets get DIY'ing!

Steps 1-4

1. Break off one section of white clay & one section of colored clay & twist them around one another.

2. Continue twisting.

3. After you have dispersed the clay & are happy with the marble pattern you achieved, roll the clay into a ball.

4. Place ball of clay on counter top & slowly start flattening it.

Steps 5-8

5. After you have flattened our your marbled clay into a circle, about 3 inches in diameter, set aside.

6. Gather two more sections of white clay & roll into ball & flatten out. Make sure the white piece is the same size as the marble piece.

7. Lay your white piece of clay on top of already made marble piece. This will be the bottom of your dish.

8. Layer the two circles together with marble side face up & white on the bottom. Using your butter knife trim the edges of both pieces to make it a perfect circle.

Steps 9-12

9. Simply pinch the edges of the circle & pull them upwards to create a lip. Do this all around your tray.

10. Heat your oven to 275 degrees F. Once trays are formed place on clean cookie sheet & bake for 18-20 minutes.

11. After tray has cooled (roughly 20 minutes) its time to add the gold paint!

12. Apply a thick layer of paint to the edges of the tray. Once they have dried place your jewelry on them & admire your artwork!
